The chef’s ingenious tip for perfectly peeled hard-boiled eggs

Make a small hole before boiling them:

The key is to release the air inside the egg. How? By making a tiny hole in the widest part before cooking it.

This prevents the shell from sticking to the white, making peeling a piece of cake later.

What do you need:

  • A pin, a needle or a thumbtack .

  • Raw eggs, of course.

Step by step:

  1. Grab the egg with one hand, carefully.

  2. With the other end, slowly pierce the rounded end. It doesn’t need to go all the way through, just a tiny hole so the air can escape.

  3. Bring it to a boil as usual, being careful not to knock it over.

  4. Once they are cooked, transfer them to a bowl of cold water for a few minutes.

When you go to peel them, you will see the difference: the shell comes off without a fight.
