They can sometimes form inside the egg due to the hens’ diet or an imbalance in their bodies. It sounds awful, but it’s completely harmless as long as there’s no infection.
To be honest, that didn’t exactly reassure me—I still didn’t want to eat it. But at least we realized they weren’t parasites or a deadly threat.
From now on, we’ll check eggs more carefully before buying them and perhaps even switch brands. Even if it’s harmless, this kind of discovery completely ruins our appetite.
