We’ve all, at one time or another, worn a ring to accessorize an outfit or mark a special occasion. Whether it’s gold, steel, set with a semi-precious stone, or even colored resin , the ring is a chameleon-like jewel. But beyond its shape or material, it’s the finger on which it’s worn that’s most intriguing.
Traditionally, the ring finger is reserved for love and marriage, the middle finger for authority, the index finger for self-assertion… As for the little finger? It was long considered the poor relation of finger symbolism. And yet, today, it is becoming the platform for expression of a strong, resolutely modern and feminist movement.
