Quick method to reproduce basil:
To ensure a constant supply of basil in our homes, we can propagate it by cuttings. This method is quick and effective, and doesn’t require much effort. Here are the steps to follow:
1-Choose the cutting:
Select a healthy, vigorous basil branch to propagate. The cutting should be at least 10 centimeters long and should be cut just below a node (the place where the leaves grow).
2-Preparation of the cutting:
Remove the lower leaves from the cutting, leaving only a few at the top. This will ensure the plant focuses its energy on developing new roots.
3-Place the cutting in water:
Fill a glass with water and place the basil cutting in it, submerging the lower nodes. Place the glass in a bright location, but not in direct sunlight.
