In the yard I found some strange little black balls and was horrified to realize what they were: be careful if you notice this kind of thing!

We were told that tick eggs are very small, about 0.5 mm, and resemble poppy seeds. They often hide in tufts of grass, under leaves, or in woodpiles. Therefore, such a discovery should never be ignored.

To get rid of it, the specialist advised us:

βœ… Remove all leaves and debris around the affected area
βœ… Consult a veterinarian to treat animals
βœ… Plant tick-repellent plants such as rosemary, chrysanthemums, or mint
βœ… Keep the lawn well mowed
βœ… Keep woodpiles away from the house

If you ever notice this kind of pile, don’t delay: it’s better to prevent it by calling an expert than to have to face serious consequences later.
