We all have that favorite white T-shirt, that cotton sheet, or that baby bodysuit we love… but it’s lost its shine over time. Between perspiration, storage, or hard water, our white textiles can turn yellow. And if you thought only bleach could save them… think again! An old grandmother’s trick, brought up to date, natural, effective, and very gentle, exists – and it’s probably already hiding in your closet.
Why bleach isn’t (always) our ally:

Bleach may seem radical, but it has its drawbacks: strong odor, risk of irritation, weakening of fibers, and sometimes… even more visible stains ! If you are a fan of natural products, have sensitive skin or care about your fabrics, it is better to opt for an alternative that is just as effective , but much gentler.
What you need to whiten without bleach:
- 250 g of baking soda
- 250 ml of white vinegar (ideally 8% household vinegar)
- Hot water ( not boiling )
- A large container and a little patience
A simple and economical combo, but with truly surprising effectiveness.
