My wife of 18 years kissed me goodbye and headed off to work. I was home sick that day, curled up on the couch with a blanket and a foggy head. Not long after, the doorbell rang.

Standing on the porch was a woman dressed exactly like my wife — same coat, same smile, same eyes. I blinked, convinced the fever had finally scrambled my brain.

She laughed softly and said, “I’m her twin.”
